Real Madrid Increase Bid for Yan Diomande as Talks With RB Leipzig Continue
Real Madrid have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande by submitting an improved offer as negotiations between the two clubs continue.
According to Sky Germany, Madrid's latest proposal is valued at between £94 million and £98 million. The offer has reportedly not been rejected, but discussions remain ongoing as Leipzig continue to push for improved terms before sanctioning the transfer.
The report adds that Leipzig are seeking a package worth around £102 million, with particular emphasis on securing a higher guaranteed fee rather than relying on performance-related bonuses. While no agreement has yet been reached, the Bundesliga club are said to expect the transfer to be completed if negotiations continue positively.
Diomande remains with Leipzig and is continuing to train with the club while talks progress. There has been no official announcement from either side, and the transfer remains subject to further negotiations.
If completed, the deal would represent another major statement from Real Madrid, who continue to invest in elite young talent capable of becoming long-term pillars of the first team. Diomande has emerged as one of Europe's most highly regarded attacking players, attracting interest through his pace, direct dribbling and attacking output.
The financial scale of the proposed transfer also underlines Leipzig's negotiating position. Having developed a reputation for securing premium fees for some of Europe's most sought-after players, the German club appear determined to maximise the value of any agreement.
The move would also have financial implications beyond the two clubs directly involved. According to the report, Leganés are entitled to a sell-on clause of between five and eight per cent, meaning the Spanish club could receive a significant windfall if the transfer is completed.
Another notable milestone could also be reached. At the figures currently being discussed, Diomande would reportedly become the most expensive African player in football history, surpassing the £72 million Arsenal paid to sign Nicolas Pépé in 2019.
Despite the optimism surrounding negotiations, the transfer is not yet complete. The clubs must still bridge the remaining gap in valuation before contracts, medical examinations and official registration can follow.
